ASB / Window Tint Capes have become the gold-standard material for tying ultra-realistic chironomid pupae bodies and mayfly wing cases. Made from anti-static bag (ASB) and window tint material, these capes perfectly mimic the gas-building stage of deep-water chironomid pupae, creating that deadly, translucent look stillwater trout can’t resist.

By layering different tints over coloured underbodies, tiers can achieve the famous “church window” effect with endless colour combinations and depth. Each cape is precision-cut into uniform strips, saving you the frustration of hand-slicing slippery material and ensuring consistent, clean wraps every time. Available in 7 colours/tints and 3 sizes, these capes let you dial in ribbing width and body profile to match your target pattern and hook size.

• 0.5mm – Best for #18 and smaller pupae bodies | Fine ribbing

• 0.75mm – Best for #18–#16 pupae bodies | Small ribbing | Bloodworms
