This annual seasonal steelhead derby started December 1st and is taking place on the Chilliwack/Vedder River. Proceeds collected from derby entries are used to restore fish habitat for this watershed. Click here for the Derby Rules and Regulations or ask for a copy at our Chilliwack store.

Chilliwack/Vedder River's winter steelhead fishery takes place between December and April. This derby targets hatchery marked steelhead only. Derby tickets are $20 each, which can be purchased at Fred's Custom Tackle.

To weigh in your fish, simply bring it to Fred's Custom Tackle's (Chilliwack store). The participant who brings in the first fish of the season will win $50 (restrictions apply.) The derby ends tentatively on March 15th and awards will be given for the top three fish on Sunday, March 24 at the Royal Canadian Legion (5661 Vedder Road Chilliwack.)

Proceeds generated from the derby will be donated to Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition, which further raises funds from various government agencies so habitat restoration projects can take place on the Chilliwack/Vedder River watershed.
